Statement regarding current Middle East conflict

We, the Interfaith Council for Wales, wish to express our deepest distress over the terrible and tragic loss of innocent life in both Israel and Gaza and pray that a peaceful solution can be found quickly to this ongoing  horrific situation to avoid it descending further into all-out war.
We would call upon all persons of faith, wherever you may be based, to pray daily for tolerance and compassion to be extended both here and in the Middle East until this conflict is resolved.

A Commitment to Dialogue – Muslims and Jewish Communities in Wales March 2024

Members of the Muslim Council of Wales and the South Wales Jewish Representative Council have been meeting under the auspices of the Interfaith Council of Wales, and have decided to issue the following commitment:-

“As faith communities here in Wales, we intend to work together in meetings to understand one another, so that the tragedies, past and present in the Middle East, are not repeated here in Wales, and we will continue to work for and pray for a peaceful resolution for everyone caught up in the horrors of war in the Middle East.

In the current climate, both internationally and in the United Kingdom, we urge dialogue, both formal and informal, to share experiences, hopes, fears, and grief, and to find common cause and common purpose for peace.”
