The Interfaith Council for Wales

‘Building Trust and respect between people of all faiths throughout Wales’

To advance public knowledge and mutual understanding of the teaching, traditions and practices of the different faith communities in Wales. To promote good relations between persons of different faiths and to be of service to the people of Wales.

The Interfaith Council has access to the members of the Faith Communities Forum and can receive reports from them. It also reports issues to the Forum which  as a way of speaking to the Welsh Assembly Government.  It aims to facilitate dialogue between the Welsh Government and the major faith communities on any matters affecting the economic, social and cultural life in Wales. It came into being in 2003 and aims to be an independent meeting place for community representatives to share faith to faith issues.
